With each consecutive year, REC has transcended into a full scale organization, one that hosts more than just a conference once a year. I believe in the future growth potential for our group, one that includes a larger audience beyond Toronto Metropolitan University. Our team is fuelled by diversity, inclusion, and culture, which helps us be more connected to the community and tailor our events to meet the ever-changing demands of the industry.

A career in entertainment is more accessibly than ever. With content creators and influencers on every corner, it is easier than ever to break into a creative field and grow within it. With #REC23, we will bring together more talent than ever before and provide our conference-goers with an unmatched experience and endless new connections and opportunities. See you all at #REC23!

ESTABLISHED IN 2015

Our History

REC owes our successes to passionate students and professionals who have supported our growth by investing in our platform over the years. As a 100% student-run, non-profit initiative, the REC family has grown to span students from across academic faculties, years, and interests. We have moved completely online from the 2020-2021 school year due to the COVID-19 pandemic and have found immense support in the community, and we are so thankful to everyone.

She also contributed to SmokingSection.net from 2008-2009 and was the first to introduce to the public award winning artists The Dream, B.O.B. and Yelawolf. From her early beginnings until today, Lola has interviewed the likes of The Black Eyed Peas, T.I., 50 Cent, Fabolous, Rick Ross, Chamillionaire, The Dream, B.O.B., Yelawolf, Dead Prez and many several others.

In early 2009, Lola started her own media marketing company, Lola Media Group with www.iluvlola.net as the online marketing arm. Creating private events, exclusive Meet and Greets and autograph signings, intimate shows and especially live performances are some of the most important aspects of catering to an artists’ growing fan base. Planning and co-ordinating concerts in the past with performers like Big Sean, Rich Hil, A$AP Rocky, French Montana, Chief Keef, Trinidad James, Fat Trel, A$AP Ferg and more, the key is a grassroots approach working 1 on 1 with the artist to create anticipation therefore building the right branding behind each event.
